A treatment to replace missing teeth, offering stability and functionality
What are dental implants
Dental implants are a treatment used to replace missing teeth. They are now considered the gold standard option when it comes to teeth replacement, as they offer optimal functionality.
Implants comprise of three main parts: a post (usually titanium), abutment (special attachment used for the connection between the implant and restoration) and the restoration on top (crown, bridge & denture).
The post will be carefully placed at bone level at the site of the missing teeth within the jaw. The restoration is then securely fitted on top, with the abutment to securely complete your new smile.
Benefits of dental implants?
- Implants are fully supportive to themselves. There is no need to trim and sacrifice other teeth to support the reconstruction.
- Implants are the gold standard as they are the most durable tooth replacement option.
- They help to promote healthy bone growth in the site of the implant (preventing further bone loss/bone resorption).
